Any suggestions for a photo case? Can't Post

I would prefer a soft case, rather than a hard one. Any suggestions?

If you mean to display to clients, then I think the best advice is to buy a couple of the sample albums from your suppliers. You can use some of your first weddings and then sell them after a year to the couple for half price and get your money back and buy an updated sample album. You can use artists portfolios to carry loose proofs. One of the leather companies does a nice folder (can't remember which). You have to display what you want to sell, so I don't carry loose prints, only albums and framed wall images, a laptop and projector, all to get the big portrait sales.

Sorry again - a camera case - to carry the body and the lenses and all that jazz.

It will have to be solid to stop thieves cutting through the side to get at stuff. Inconspicuous would help. Something you can padlock and chain to stuff if you have to put it down. I just use a shoulder bag/ rucksack and let my son look after it. The whole idea of doing photo is to cut down on the stuff I take to weddings. I don't think I have ever seen a photog round here carry more than a shoulder bag and wearing 2 or 3 bodies.

Mind you I haven't been shooting weddings, but for my new digital crap (which seems to require a lot of extra junk), I got a Lowepro Magnum AW shoulder bag. I like LowePro bags. But even with only one consumer DSLR body (Olympus E-500) with 14-54 lens mounted, this bag is already heavy...with the big flash, flash power supply+batteries, 50-200 lens, duster, manuals (damned digital...things sure got complicated), plus all the other little extras. There's plenty of room for an extra body with lens mounted.

For weddings, it seems like it would be way more practical to have the commando-style vest harness system with individual bags mounted for each piece of gear, so you could comfortably carry all your gear without worrying about a bag being stolen from behind the DJ booth or back of the church...but you'd look like a dork, and when you stop to buy a few bags of Skittles on the way to the reception dressed in all black and combat webbing, the store clerk is likely to think he's being hit by terrorist...or the INS.

I like the LowePro gear, though, and have a bunch of their stuff, as well as a buggyload of other various cheapo bags/cases laying around here. My apartment is like a flea market. I should just put an eBay sign on the front door, and open up shop 9-5 so I can pay my rent. Sly

It's on the expensive side ... but I love it. It holds all my gear with room for more It's on rollers, has a built in lock for the zippered area, built in cable to lock to a table leg or whatever ... and meets carry-on specs. Acutually, had I known about this bag earlier I might have considered it for all my video crap. Sly

Should you decide to go this route just watch where you buy it. I think Robers was going to charge me $90 for shipping. Penn had NO delivery charges.

My stupid kitty's favorite place to taunt me...sitting on the power supply/UPS that powers my entire desk. She runs past me, avoiding capture, then sits up there uncomfortably, just to show me who's boss.

I will send over 1 of the local magpies. These birds are tough! Yesterday, I saw 1 kick a cat's butt so bad the cat was left cowering under a car Shocked. Of course, I didn't have my camera with me Mad they taunt me and only do stuff when I can't take the pic and make some money on "Animals do the craziest things".

Scott, that's a NICE bag!

I went with this computer compatible backpack, but with all the travel I'm doing nowdays, I'd likely change to something larger and with rollers if I had it to do over again.

I'm using the same case as rusty to get my stuff to and from weddings.

Here's a picture I took of it, (my gear has changed since this, I have added a 30D & 17-55, sold the 28-70 and 85m F1.8)
