Anyone buy from either of these sellers? Can't Post

Hi All,

With B&H and Adorama closed; along with no stock at a couple of others, I'm in a pinch to get something before my gig on Saturday.

Has anyone bought from Focus Camera http://focuscamera.com/ or 17th Street Photo http://www.17photo.com?

Both seem to be in good standing with resellerratings.com, but would like to hear from any actual buyers.

Thanks.

John

Is John on vacation? Haven't seen him around here lately.

Maybe he's off shooting a wedding at some exotic location
in a foreign country, where there is no internet access.

I didn't use either place; instead, a local Mike Crivello's camera store had the item I was looking for in stock and was only about $4 more in price; so, I picked it up locally for use that weekend.

The item, which I think Brackish mentioned a while back, was the Hoodman Loop, just great for outdoor use and being able to see your images and check for exposure, blinkers and actually see the histogram clearly, even on the brightest of days. I won't do outdoor formals pics without this thing, a must have tool in my book.

Hey, welcome back, John. Were you off shooting a celebrity wed vid on some remote tropical island? Smile So ... you must have read my Hoodman Loop review here. Isn't the Loop just peachy??? Really the cat's meow. I won't shoot portraits outdoors without it now. Like you said: It's really a must have. Well worth the money. (I believe videochicke picked one up, too.) I'll tell you one thing to watch for so you don't get caught with your pants down. When I first got the Loop I left it in my bag for when I would be shooting the outdoor formals. Well, right after the ceremony the couple went and did a receiving line outside the church - in the very bright sun. I didn't have my Loop on me and boy did I miss it.

I have bought from Cameta Camera for my D50. It was a refurb, and had an extended warranty on it. Good thing too, the shutter mechanism when out, and cameta replaced it for free...no questions (jsut had to send it in)
