Anyone using incident light meter for events? Can't Post

Anyone using something like this?

I heard that someone uses this in tricky outdoor lighting

and gets perfect exposure every time.

I was going to get one for use in the "studio" with monolights/off camera strobes, the one that meters flashes as well, but I doubt I'd use one for weddings/events.

And now, shooting digital, I wonder if it'd be one of those expensive gadgets that ends up collecting dust on the shelf, once you get experienced in using your gear?

I have a cheap (+/- $100) Sekonic incident/reflective meter which works great, but it doesn't work as a flash meter, just existing light. I was using it with my old SLR's with no meters or broken meters.

I have a minolta, somewhere. Never use it.

Same here.
I was using it at first, because that is how I learned. We had those crappy dial light meters, not the fancy digital ones.
I've probably just used it a handful of times, even then I probably could have done without.

I bet you've got your eye on picking up a Hoodman Hoodloupe, don't you? Wink
