Basic PS question: Where do you put the pics? Can't Post

I'm used to working with Vegas and Elements where the
bottom 1/4 of the screen has a photo bin or media bin,
where the media you're working with are stored.

So, say you import 10 images at once. With Vegas and
Elements, those images are on the bottom of the
screen and you select which one you want to work
with and then you work with it on the top 3/4 of the screen.
But it appears that actual Photoshop does not have a bin on the bottom.

So ... say you bring in 10 images at once: Where do you put
them?

The easiest way is to open Bridge and select a folder. From there, double click the image you want to work on.

I will sometimes open three or four images from Bridge in CS3, do my thing, save and open a few more.

Why not just open several at once and minimize them to the bottom of
your screen?

Say you open 4 images. Where do you put the 3 you're not
working on? Minimized to the bottom, like what Laura suggested?

Yeah, rodo, this is what I'm talking about: Looking for
a way to have thumbnails of the imported images on the
bottom of the screen, like what Vegas, Elements, and
Lightroom do, so's you can work on one image, then another,
and flip back and forth between them.

Maybe there's no way to do this in PS?

You can. I'm working on them on a 24 inch screen so I just reduce the size of them and move them over to the side so I can see what I have to work with. The only time I have multiple images open is when I'm working on an album. I decide in Bridge which ones I think will work together on a page and open all of them at the same time. Sometimes I end up using them all and other times I just close something that is not going to work.

I just tried that minimizing. I brought in 6 images at once
and minimized 5 of them. It works out okay I guess. I really
didn't miss not having the thumbnails.

They do minimize in an orderly fashion. I guess this is the
best that can be done with PS. Still, thumbnails would be
nice.
