Booked my second wedding photography shoot today Can't Post

I met with a bride and groom last week and thought I was meeting them to discuss video, turns out they wanted photography. So I told them it was not my main business but I do offer it. We chatted for about an hour but I left thinking that they would most likely not book me. I did not even have any samples of my work. The groom called today and said they were impressed and wanted to book me.

Isn't that hilarious? I think photography must be all about selling yourself, from what I've gathered. Other than that, I think it must be a much easier sale than video. I'm jumping through hoops trying to sell cheap wedding videos, while turning away anxious photography clients....it doesn't make much sense!! Crazy

Video is a luxury... there guilt laden.

Photography is just such a staple. No guilt unless they go cheap!

Speaks volumes of your personality. Kudos. The hard part has been defeated. As long as your pictures are in focus and exposed properly you'll almost certainly make a comfortable living.

I wouldn't concern yourself with artsy compositions and lighting and such. Just well-focused, properly exposed plain candid pictures with a flash, and plain line'em-up formals. Achieving proper autofocus is a challenge (for me). Gotta get me one of those cat eye split focus screens like in the good old days. I like manual focus way better.

Focus was a bit of an issue this time,, I do think it will get better. I was using auto focus and that could have been part of the problem but I was not sure about shooting manual focus.
