Canon 30D announced Can't Post

I'm actually glad they are not going full frame. It seems more like just general tweaks to the 20d. Maybe the shutter will be quieter, would be nice.

The larger screen appeals to me most.

Why would you not want full frame??

Sounds like it will be just a hair cheaper than the 20d, too...I guess I should be glad I was too broke to buy the 20d, eh?

About the same price... it replaces the 20D.

Re: [Mathew] Canon 30D announced [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm a little dissapointed- looks mostly like spot metering and a larger LCD to me. Then again I don't know what I expected. Though Canon is known for doing very small incrimental changes (usually in the form of a Mark II version or an "N" version etc). Other than the minor chage in the dimensions, I don't see why this couldn't be a 20D mkII.

I'm glad they aren't going full frame either- I'd have to shoot myself in the foot if they could produce a full-frame cam for $1,300 already.

PS What's up with the "direct print button" on my 5D and the new 30D. Leave that BS for the consumer non SLR point-n-shoot cams. Mad

It's not that I don't want a full frame. However if they were to put a full frame in the 30D the price of the camera would of went up significantly. At $1300 it's in my price range still.

I plan on buying a DSLR in the next couple of months. Now I'm just waiting to see about this Panasonic 4/3 camera that is being rumored.
