DWF convention anyone? Can't Post

Jeff, Jenn and any other DWF members ... anyone going to attend the convention this year?

I wanted to go last year, but I had too much going on at the time. I would like to go this year, but I may end up running into the same conflict.

Just thought I would check to see how many of us that "go both ways" are going to vegas. Cool

To be honest - I'm a little too intimidated to attend a photography conference just yet. Intimidated and overwhelmed - is that stupid?

Bout i can definitely see the benefit - just for having the opporunity to check out and handle some albums.

I don't think it's stupid at all. To a degree that's how I would feel. On the other hand ... think about how some people feel going their first year to video conventions. I imagine it's the same.

Having said that ... I do believe the bar or level of people attending is a bit higher than video. That's not a whack at the video people, but just my personal perception.

If I were to go I would take a hard look at the 90 minute seminars. Even though I've been in business for myself for over 25 years, ther is a lot to be learned from those that are running a successful portrait studio or wedding studio. Some things I've learned in video is easy to transfer over to photo while others do not.

I wish that I had gone last year if for no other reason than to network, hit a few seminars and then see the trade show. I have no idea how to make some of the albums that are out there, so I limited my choices to about three. And being in a small town ... just no way to see what products are out there.

It looks like I've got a corporate job the last week in Jan. followed by another one the first week in Feb. I think DWF is in March. BTW ... I believe it piggy-backs off the WPPI convention so there is a LOT going on.

Also ... my understanding is that we should go for no other reason than to attend the Bahama Breeze opening party. I saved a video on my hard drive from last year and it looks like everyone had a blast.

You need to go.
