DWF forums now (partially) open to all Can't Post

The Digital Wedding Forum has created a new membership category called DWF Start. This is for "aspiring wedding photographers", and (at least for now) is free. You still have to sign up, but they waive the requirement of proving that you are a professional wedding photographer. This is great news for those of us who were turned away because we were not photographing weddings for pay (video doesn't count).

I signed up and checked it out. Some forums are open to all (they have a DWF Start forum that is very active), some are read only to Start members. Unfortunately the Pro forums are closed to DWF start members (you can't even lurk there). BTW DWF Pro membership still requires that you qualify either by having a pro photography website, providing them your tax ID number, or if you are a freelancer, telling them who you work for.

I am pleased to see that DWF has done this. While it would be nice if they opened up the entire site to anyone who was willing to pay, this is a step in the right direction. The DWF Start forum is, as I mentioned above very active, with lots of excellent tips on getting started.
