Do you shoot with others...for fun? Can't Post

Hey all!

Do any of you tag along with photographer friends and help them shoot at weddings just for fun?

A friend of mine Ken (http://www.weddingsbyimageworks.com and I try to tag along with the other on the weekends if we're not booked.
It's so much more fun to have someone else there, and as the second (or third Wink ) photographer it's so easy to try new things and try to capture moments and details that the other photographer just can't get. And there's no pressure! You're just there to have fun and help out!

A few of my photographer friends in Santa Barbara do the same. David Jay, Dane Sanders, Tim Halberg, Chris Humphreys. Sometimes I'll see some photos of 3 or 4 of them together at a wedding that one of them had booked. Some funny photos usually come from those events and the wedding couple loves it because they are getting way more for their money and they know they are getting some more amazing shots!

Also, thought I might bring this up now that I'm close to topic:

Do you guys know what 'chimping' is?

This is something that I learned when I switched to photography.
Here's a good little explanation video from sportsshooter.com
http://www.sportsshooter.com/.../chimping/index.html
Check out the 'Part II' link too.

Here's a call out to capture other photographers that you shoot with chimping!

So to start it off, here's a couple photos of Ken from this weekend!

When I get a camera I will consider this. It seems like it could be more enjoyable because you aren't the "primary" photographer, just a bonus shot guy.

Now, if I could just afford that new camera...

Yup you got it.

The term comes more from someone looking through their photos and finding one they really like and getting exciting and making noises. (like a chimp)

It's definitely fun to catch other photographers doing it!
We've been shooting photos of each other doing it for a while now, so we've decided that the shots now need to be 'creative' chimping shots. Hence the lens baby shots.
