EL-Cheapo Canon20D budget package Can't Post

I'm aiming at the budget Wedding photography market because of my lack of experience...I want to put together the cheapest Lens I can get that would be satisfactory. I'm buying the canon 20D....My question is.....I hear the "kit lens" is trash...Do I just buy the canon 20D without the kit? I understand the L glass is better.. What would be the CHEAPEST first lens i should get that would be better then what comes with the lens kit that would work for Budget weddings....I know I'm going to need at least 3 lens? Thanks for helping me build the El-Cheapo Cannon Budget package........Gary

Gary it's not like the kit lense is going to give you dirty pixelated images. I'm sure you can get decent images with it. I say it's "trash" compared to the other lenses out there. Once you've shot with L-glass it's hard to go back to anything less. It's amazing how much of a difference the glass makes on the overall image. If it's a matter of budget- by all means go with the kit and use that time to learn the camera. Once your ready to upgrade- you'll already be well versed with the cameras controls.

Glen is right but in the end, the LOWER your F STOP the less light is needed and better exposed your pics will be.

On many reco's I bought the TAMRON IX 28-75mm lens..it is a 2.8f stop through the lens and it is INCREDIBLE.
In the end you'll NEED a 16-35mm lens or close to for wide angle photography, a medium zoom lens like the 28-75mm lens I have from Tamron, and then int he end MAYBE a lens over 75mm to maybe 125mm for some really dramatic depth of feild portrait photography.

extras include a macro lens...1:1..1:2 for super close ups of shots of rings etc...
also afisheye like my canon 2.8f 15mm lens which costs 550.

BTW the Tamron 28-75mm lens costs 330 usd. Great bang for yor buck.

The 16-28(or is it 35)mm high end 2.4 canon lens is roughly 1600bucks... you can get them used on ebay for 599-700
====================
I got some stuff.

Man..I want a fish-eye. I heard great things about the 15....even better than the 14L. Even has it's place in wedding photography. Wink
