Engagement shoot ... with a cat?

Here's our shoot from Sunday. I encourage couples to incoporate personal elements, and we shot at the college campus where the couple met. I also mentioned she could bring any props she might want to incorporate. For example, groom is a football coach - thought maybe they might bring a ball and throw it around or something. But no, they brought a cat. Who-da-thought. THAT was hard. Cats don't really, well, cooperate. But we managed to get some interesting shots. Some of the images were a little softer than I had realized - saw more when zoomed in while editing - even though I tried to be careful to shoot at higher shutter speeds. Sigh. But thankfully there were some great keeper-shots. http://www.imagesbymoak.com/jenandray.htm Maybe I should elaborate: As always I'm looking for feedback. One thing I'm wondering is - do the images appear washed out on your monitor? Bride looks 'hot' in many of the images but groom has shadows. I know a reflector would have helped, but I'm in the camp that prefers to shoot the moments rather than the technically perfect image, so I hate to put the camera down to start screwing with accessories. But in the future, I think I should, at least for one main portrait - have Brian hold the reflector under them to alleviate those shadows, especially with deep set eyes like this groom has. One thing I'm learning - watch placement of body parts. When shooting 'portraits' - take the time to scan the scene - for example, look for 'phantom hands' which appear on the other side of objects - in several of these shots the groom put his arm around the bride, but only the tips of his fingers appear around her waste. I think it would look better if none of his hand was showing - I read about this. And again, it's one of those things I forget to consider, until I get home and look at the images. Of course, it's different when shooting 'photojournalism' style - you get what you get - the action is the focus. But I have to remind myself with 'portraits', i have to pay closer attention to aesthetics.
