I just bought one from them for $410 last week!!! MadMad
The local camera store sells them for damn near $500.

At least now I can afford to get a couple more!

Don't ya just hate when that happens?

So which package did you open first? The video camera or the olmpus?

Rusty... do you get worried about having so many images on one card should something happen to that one card? I know they are generally very reliable but I've always been told to stick with the 1GB - 2GB cards just in case. I'm very curious and interested in buying one of these even so.

Same with me. I stick with the 1 GB cards for photography. I have had a card go bad before (a SanDisk Ultra Extreme) Was able to rescue most of the images but still, it's a scare.

Now if only the Panasonvic HVX200 would take these 4GB cards instead of the unbelievably expensive P2's.... I'd be getting excited

I was kinda thinking about that. Then I started seeing that photographers were taking between 2000-4000 pictures PER photog at weddings with lots of them in RAW (that just seems frackin' insane and stupid), so I figure if I ever get that crazy I'd probably regret not having bought 4GB cards from the start. Otherwise I'd be carrying around a whole sack of cards, and probably more likely to lose one.

Now with their price having dropped so dramatically, it will be easier to swallow buying 4gb. I guess I need to check prices on other brand 4GB cards....maybe they're just pieces of crap and trying to get rid of them. Laugh After all, it was packaged with rescue software...maybe they expect it will fail. Tongue

Yeah it's very much a double edged sword. Having a larger quantity of lower capacity cards may be less convenient but it doesn't put all your eggs in one basket so-to-speak. As for me I like the middle of the road. A small handfull of 2 gig cards. Cool

Hi Glen,
Have you experienced any anomalies with the 2gb cards?
Every so often I hear a little bit of chit chat that the 2gb cards can be tempermental.

I've got one of these babies on order for the past month...should have it soon. Will let me send images to its 120GB hard drive via wi-fi instead of using cards Smile

I wouldn't worry about having too big a card tho...when 16 and 32GB cards are available we'll laugh thinking back about the 4GB ones being too big/risky. 8GB extremes were announced last month by Sandisk.
