Family reunions? Can't Post

I occasionally have seen photogs mention that they
have been hired to shoot family reunions.

Anyone know if there is much of a market for this?

Anyone have any thoughts on this market segment?

Has anyone here been contacted about and/or shot
a family reunion for hire?

Re: [Brackish] Family reunions? [In reply to] Can't Post

We were looking at having one at our last family reunion, but the family talked me into doing it. The on-site fee was quoted at around $250 to show up, and $150 to shoot the main group (session fee). Then they agreed to shoot as many individual family portraits as we wanted them to and would sell us the JPG and RAW images for $75 along with permission to copy/print them. I knew the photographer a little bit, though, but this was not a discounted rate. We figured that it would be around $700 to get portraits taken and have everyone done with the files on disk.

Maybe you had talked about that here a while back? You had a concern about lighting large groups? Anyways, it doesn't look like VUers are doing much in the way of reunion business.
