Good, cheap generic batteries Can't Post

Just want to pass this along.

I've been disappointed with generics for vid cams
except for Lenmar brand, which has been
recommended by others in the VU video
forum.

I needed another still camera battery and the
manufacturer's battery was $50. I was able
to find a Lenmar at $17. I haven't received it
yet but if it's as good as their vid cam battery
that I have, it will be fine.

Here's their site:

http://www.lenmar.com/

Purchased my Lenmars from Staples and Newegg.

Re: [rodovideo] Good, cheap generic batteries [In reply to] Can't Post

Just got the Lenmar in and it's identical to the
manufacturer's battery in its outer dimensions.
Plus, it is more powerful, having a higher mAh rating.
My Lenmar for my video cam was also rated
higher than the manufacturer's battery. I had
heard that the generics generally over-rate
the power so I tested it for runtime.
To my surprise, the Lenmar came out to the
exact runtime that my calculations had
predicted based upon Lenmar's rating, which
was about 1/3 longer than how long the
standard manufacturers battery would
run - for about 1/3 the price!

Rodo, are you sure you weren't looking at the
manufacturer's suggested retail price for the
Lenmar? I've found that the street prices are
much less then MSRP.

For example, I just checked Ritz prices and
they want $70 for my cam's name brand
battery and $13 for the Lenmar replacement!

What were the Ritz prices for your D80's batteries?
