Monthly Magazine Can't Post

I am looking for a beginners focused magazine that would deal with my canon20 D and photoshop....I'm currently thinking about PCPHOTO monthly magazine. It's $12 for 9 issues. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Gary

I don't know anything about that magazine but, how long have you had your Canon 20D? I just got mine two weeks ago and absolutely love it. I have already taken over 1000 pics with it (granted I took pics at a cheer comp). I am so excited about it. I told my husband (jokingly of course) that he could sleep on the couch that my camera was going to take his spot in the bedAngelic. I was excited on how clean it took photos with an ISO at 1600.

photoshop user

"the Adobe Photoshop 'how-to' magazine"

www.photoshopuser.com

I believe it says it's only available for NAPP members, but I pick it up at the local bookstore

yes, and I purchased the canon 75-300 f3.5/5.6 IS and a wide angle. I wish I could afford to get the Canon telephoto L lense.

PCPhoto, although a great magazine, I think it may not be the fit for what you may be looking for. But try it out. It does have some very useful information. For Instance: http://mypublisher.com/deluxeBooks.html was an idea I recently found in PCPHOTO and used for several "Parent Albums" Low cost, yet very good quality.

One very useful publication I found was at Barnes and Noble. I am going to pick it up this week. I will let you know the name of it. It doesnt really talk of the use of the camera. It is more focused on layout, development of the albums and picture composure.

Take a look at my temporary homepage. Although this is easily done in Photoshop (taking some time), this book (the name escapes my mind) mentions websites that offer Photoshopo Scripts that will pretty much do this for you (saving you time) and it also allows you to tweak the layers once it is finished allowing you to add your personal touch. The full scripting program has over 2000 page layouts (I think). Once I rmember the name, I will send it to you.

The Magazine is pretty good. It gives you monthly tips for both beginners and advanced users. I go back to my previous issues all the time. I'm sure you already know, you get the magazine subscription free when you join. I have been putting off joining simply because it is 99 bucks in one lump sum, but that is pretty stupid seeing that each magazine is 9.95 and I usually pick one up during my bi weekly visits to Barnes and Noble.

One of my professors was a member and he said it was well worth the membership. But like I said. There are quite a few books out there that are great for dig photographers using phototshop. Didnt get a chance to head out there tonite to find that wedding book yet.

Books that I use quite often that I currently own are
How to Wow - Photoshop for Photography
Photoshop Retouching & Restoration
and the Down & Dirty Tricks (they have some great effects)

What version of PS do you have?

the website I gave is the NAPP website (photoshopuser.com) - I don't know about the organization but the magazine is top notch - very educational. It goes over projects like an ad with a TV half way in water for example and then detailed step by step instructions how it's put together - I've learned the most through that magazine. It's $10 a pop and worth it.
