My first go in painter Can't Post

It took me 5 days to watch the training video and this is my first attempt on a wedding picture. I really enjoy experimenting with this prog and I can't wait to try out some ideas on video.

How do you like it compared to photoshop? I tried a version of Painter last spring, or last fall (not sure which version) and although it seemed nice, it took about 4 times longer to perform the same operations as Photoshop.

Has it sped up any?
Does it offer any extra tools that PS does not?

Looks like the price went up quite a bit, too....over $300 for it. Approaching Photoshop prices :(

It is still a lot slower than ps. PS with the smudge tool can do a lot of the painted look but Painter just has enough extra to make it worth getting in its own right. Its paper effects have more options than ps filters and the brushes are also more adaptable. The main pull for me is that you can input your own touch - something that I will be pushing in selling MY work to clients. It is easy to swap between ps and painter, so that helps and doesn't mean that you are stuck with a choice of one or the other. I am really excited by possibilities of working with painter. I used to have a video app that you could paint on frames with and I intend to use painter to do similar stuff, yet avoiding the "filter" look. Combined with printing on canvas, I intend to aim this at big money packages.

Does painter support "filmstrip" type of editing (video strips pulled in)?

For the speed difference, maybe I just need to upgrade my PC Tongue

Haven't delved that deep but ps does and swapping between them is seamless, so I expect to go premiere - ps - painter and then in reverse, because I don't think painter does batch which I need for some stuff.
