Need help with a flash Can't Post

I've been looking at Digital cameras, specifically the Rebal XT (350D), and need some help understanding flashes. I know there are different colors, but that's about it. Can anyone recommend a good flash for digital photography?

hey Jesse. I have the Canon ex580. I love it.

the 580 can also be used to trigger other canon's set to slave for flashes. great for exposing rooms and portrait work.

I have the 550 and the 580. 580 is so much better.

I had originally purchased a Sigma flash, but then bit the bullet and purchased the 580. It should be in today. I decided it was silly to skimp on the flash after investing in everything else.

Thanks. I'm finding the 580 to be the flash of choice for Canon users.

Thanks!

Now I learning about glass... WOW talk about some learning....

Good choice Jesse. My boss is a Nikon guy and his Nikkon and Metz flashes arent nearly as friendly to the user as the 580 is

I love shooting with the 580's little white bounce card (catch light?). Gives great exposures indoors.
