Well if you want to go security... stick all of it in a diaper bag. Nobody will steal that.... compared to an "official" camera bag.

I have a Targus backpack that holds my 17" toshiba (which I upgraded to a 15.4 toshiba (faster & lighter)) and external portable 160g hd, My D80 & D50, my sb600 w/extra batteries & 15min recharger, my GF lightsphere, 70-300mm-vr, 18-135mm, 50mm 1.8, gorilla-pod, ac chargers for both laptop & camera batteries.... and a little room to spare. Now it does get heavy after a while but it is nice to have ALL that I need in one bag.

It survived my trip to Haiti...Smile

Like Mike says, I think my next bag will be a backpack...one for photo and one for video.

Before I sold much of my DSLR gear, I got a Lowepro Magnum bag to carry it in. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...Camera_Shoulder.html

Now I use it to carry my wedding video gig stuff (FX7+junk), and am trying to come up with some way to not have a huge bag to carry when taking pictures. The more I learn what I really need to carry, the more I can reduce my kit, and hopefully not have to carry a big bag at all. I hate going someplace and having to drop a huge obvious bag on the floor for someone to steal. Plus, if I actually NEED something in the bag, if it's not on me, it doesn't do much good.

I'm a Lowepro junky when it comes to bags, and have tons of their stuff..most of which I didn't need. Laugh They're expensive, but very well made, padded well, and most of it is pretty modular.

I'd like to be able to carry most of my gear ON me, without looking like I'm wearing a Batman Utility Belt or a Commando vest.

Some other interesting bags I've Googled up:

I also like military surplus bags. This place on eBay sells super-cheap paramilitary bags out of Hong Kong. One of their larger cases might work well if you stuffed it with some Domke padded inserts. Last week I ordered one of their small bags to carry a travel camera kit to Mexico to shoot personal photos while working in Mexico in a couple of months. Hopefully the bag will come in today so I can check out what I got for $8.99. Their eBay store...
