PICS: Lomo action from Action Central... Can't Post

Playing with one of the Lomo action effects someone posted on Action Central...

Pics from this past weekend at my parents' house, my mom, niece, mom's cat, and horse that visits their backyard...

Sweet... is the action adjustable at all (meaning does it execute and flattens the image at the end or does it leave layers behind)? Very cool effect (I really dig x-processed images), loved the first shot of the cat. Dude, couple more of these and you can easily compete with my local high-end photog offering "life" photography.

Smile

Thanks Rusty.

I haven't been overly impressed with the actions from Action Central, but this looks like a good one.

I think you can make adjustments as it goes, but it does create a new image at the start and flatten when it's done. I turn off the dialogue during the actions, because I don't like to sit and learn what it's doing. Laugh I hate editing pictures, with so much freakin' video backlog to do, and just like the fun part of taking pictures and then looking at them.Tongue In this case, just ran the action on the whole folder of untouched pictures, and uploaded them as-is. I think the action works pretty well, considering I didn't tweak any of it's settings at all, which I guess I would do if they were pro photos and not just family snapshots.

My Mom gave me like $100 in cash, despite me trying to refuse it, to frame one of my lightning pictures. Does that count? Laugh She gave me some kitchy gold frame, and had me mount a 16x20 print in it, which she hung in the hallway of their nice house. Laugh Then, this weekend she got two more 5X7 lightning prints and is having a local frame shop professionally matt them, to hang by the 16x20. Then my sister ordered 80 prints of my cruise pictures from our family vacation, and my family ordered about 6 copies of the Blurb book I made with our photos.

I'm not even charging a mark-up on family photos, and I'm already grossing more off family photos than I am on wedding video this month. Laugh But I DID get rejected by 3 different $999 brides this month because they just couldn't work the wedding video into their budget, because of my "high" price. Then I quoted a dude $800 to shoot a birthday party for him, including 4 hours of coverage, full editing, multiple DVD copies with custom cases and menu, highlights video, online hosting of highlights on private website, and expedited editing. He laughed at me on the phone, said that price was really steep, and that I was wasting his time. Laugh

There is a custom vignette 2.0 or something on that site as well that I like to use.

Thanks for the tip Rusty.
I've used that action a few times now. I actually went to the guy's site and bought two more actions from him and might get a third.

I had a cute picture that was kind of blurry, the lomo action just made it funky.

Origional:

see next post for lomo version, I can't seem to add another here...

Re: [RustyB] PICS: Lomo action from Action Central... [In reply to] Can't Post

ha - yeah, innocent my a$$.

Actually, I see the photo of the kitty in the dryer. Reminds me of a baaaaad weekend.

I was supposed to go to a friend's wedding and the person I was interested in for months and was going to ask to be my date called and asked if I could look after his cats because he was going to stay at a girl's house for the weekend. Frown

Anyway, I decided to go to the wedding alone but would fancy up my hair before I went. I bought a highlight kit that was supposed to be easy.
After brushing in globs of dye my head looked like Dennis Rodman from the early 90's. Then my car broke down. So no date, bad hair and no car, I didn't drive the 3 hours to the wedding but went to visit my sister instead.

I took my laundry with me and after a while we were sitting drinking tea laughing at my bad hair when my sister asked what the hell I had put in the dryer. I joked for a minute and said "your pesky cat". Then we both froze and ran downstairs, sure enough little Blossom was in the dryer for 20 minutes!

It might sound funny, cat in the dryer, but it was horrible, the cat was burnt and we didn't know if anything was broken. We had to rush her to the emerg vets, mostly she had burns and bruises. Poor kitty.

That was Blossom, the smallest cat. Funny little thing she would get into everything. One time I went to open the bottom of the stove to get out a pot and Blossom was sitting inside one of them just looking up at me as if to say "HI!!". I don't know how long she'd been in there but she was quite happy to be snoozing inside a pot.
