Sony F828 Can't Post

Now that I have seen lots of threads about digital photo cams I' wondering if anyone have a Sony F828?
How this compare with a Canon Rebel or 20D?
Thanks in advance

Can you offer a link to this camera?

Any details??

Is this a SLR, or a fixed lens point and shoot????

I believe this is the camera that came out following the 717, but looks a bit more conventional. If it's the one I'm thinking of I'm sure it's a good camera ... just not sure that it's up to par for professional wedding use.

The 20D is so much better than the F828.

Thanks all
The cam is sell by a friend... no thread. He asking $700. I have the 717 too but is "slow" to take photos.
Just want to know any other experience. The lens is 28-200 and the aperture is 2-2.8 upon zoom which means a great one.
Will have to make shoots to know how it works

Hi,

I have had the F828 for approx 20 months and it is an excellent camera in good light. It is not a great low light camera and I don't think that it is all that great with the HVL 32X flash. It has some really good plus points like the excellent 28 - 200 zoom range, the swivelling body, superb build quality but, it has some really poor points to it like , low light performance isn't very good, write times to compact flash or memeory stick pro is incredibly slow when shooting raw.

As one of the posters mentioned, it ain't no 20D and, infact, I nearly bought a 20D today but, bottled out of it.

I would have thought that $700 is probably a bit expensive for a 2nd hand F828 especially since you can buy the new R1 for under $1000.

Hope I haven't put you off this camera too much as it really is a very good photographic tool but (there's always a but) there are better cameras out there these days for not much more money.

Cheers John

And if I'm not mistaken ... doesn't the 828 still suffer from some shutter lag? Certainly not as bad as the 707 or 717, but I thought it still had some delay.

For me the killer would be poor shots at high ISO. That's where the Canon 20D really shines. I have several 11x14 photos that I'm taking on the road shot at ISO 800 and 1600. LOVE IT.
