Stills are too much fun... Can't Post

Not OFFICIAL photos, but part of the learning experience. I have found that shooting stills is really fun in the end, but I REALLY need to practice posing and adjusting the people before the shot. Here are some candids from the weekend soccer games, though, just for fun. I REALLY like the clarity and look of stills, and the ease of using a still camera over a video camera (video cameras are a lot more clunky than still cameras). You don't get the movement, sounds, and so forth that a video can give you, but you get a level of detail and a look that video can't give you..

Canon 30d with a tamron 28-75 lense. Kind of fun stuff to play with

Nice shots... I love the clarity of still photos also, much better than video. There seems to be so much more art to it, in my humble opinion.

Hey those are great.
Isn't it amazing the difference in an slr camera to a point and shoot?

Here's one I took the other day of my friend's flower pot.

I love picture 3. You can almost see her thought "ok, enough with the camera already".

I think there is more art to it too. So many more ways to be creative in any given moment.

I agree about the better detail in a photo, which is why I constantly have to remind myself to shoot wide once in a while. With video, I tend to stay tight to keep the detail. But with photo, it's still visible while capturing more of the image at large. Know what I mean?

I keep saying to myself, "Tight, medium, wide..." Trying to mix it up a bit. I may have mentioned in a previous post how one bride recently told me one of her complaints with her wedding photographer was that he didn't do enough full length shots. I found this interesting. She said he didn't take any during the first dance, which she regreted not having. So for me, that verified my thoughts - remember to shoot some wide.

CUTE pics, by the way. Smile

Give them both all the time, wide & close.

For the formal shots I do full length, 3/4 and finally head & shoulders and maybe back to half.
And then there's always a few minutes to let the creative juices flow like this bouquet & rings image.

Friends don't let friends shoot jpeg.
