Thanks all. If we pool together we get these benefits;
- A large library to attract customers
- Fresh contributions to make customers return regularly
- Images from several cultural viewpoints, artistic approaches, geographical locations
- Contributors with a proven level of technique and production
- cross-growth from customers browsing across all our portfolios
- one stop shopping for customers to find several artists at once
- the opportunity to share ideas without being ripped off by a competitor and to learn from each other as we go
- the bond of an existing community that provides trust and familiarity with each other
- financial benefits from cost-sharing and economy of scale.
- We can use our existing branding under the "umbrella" or a separate identity to avoid cannibalism or pollution
We won't be losing control of our own images or branding. It doesn't stop us continuing with our own thing or existing relationships. It is just about being big enough to make sure we catch the customers eye in the marketplace. JC, Shadow, you interested? I see it as being a portal to get customers to look and buy our images. More than a stock library. Closer to a craft fair, which attracts people already interested in the goods and ready to purchase. I will put together a pilot site from one of my domains and let you see what I mean. Email me your links, if you have some set up so that I can work out the back-office arrangements.
