canon flash 430 vs 580 Can't Post

I own the canon 580ex. I need another flash for another camera and I am trying to decide whether or not to get another 580ex or save a little money and get the 430. Is the 430 enough or will I thank myself for getting another 580? what are the major differences between the 430 and 580? I would assume bigger throw and faster recycling time. anything else?

thanks in advance

A lot of people think the fact that you have a one button push to make the 580 swivel as well as tilt is enough to purchase another one. The dial on the back also seems to be a determining factor.

I was trying to decide whether to purchase another 580 or 550. I've decided to go with an additional 580. I just wish I could find a used one, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

580 can serve as a Master (to fire other flashes) or as a Slave.
The 430 is not able to serve as a Master.

I think the reduced cycle time and ability to fire when partially recharged is big for the 580. Now my old 430's are relegated to secondary flashes any more.

Thanks guys.

the 430 can't fire when it's not fully charged? I should have waited to hear some of your responses. I made the order for the 430 and I need it for this weekend.

Anyone know if B&H will allow me to exchange the flash for the 580? I should probably ask them...
