olympus E-300 or cannon rebel? Can't Post

I have just bought an E-300 and i am ok with the pictures i get- i love the fact that i have 2 lenses to choose from with the kit. currently i am very new to the photography world and know very basic stuff. however my first priority is to develope my photography knowledge b/c i love it a lot even as a hobby.
now considering this and possibily wanting to move into the event industry have i made a good investment or the rebel would be a better choice?>
my other choice as been suggested is the D-10 for about the same price.

I am looking for ease of work and good rich colors

I'm a real noob when it comes to digital photography. But if I were you, I'd stick with the E-300 for now, until you can (or need to) step up to, say, a Canon D20 and better lenses. The Rebel is more a step sideways.
