Ok, bright outside, only light is mixed light, some shadows on the face, bright light/sky poking through in background. Obvioulsy flash is needed to even it out so that the people's faces aren't dark, right? I metered for the light area using AV mode, put it into manual mode, put the flash on and took the picture. This is supposed to put the flash at full light evening it out. If I took the picture in plain AV mode it just metered for the background and the people were dark, or the shadows weren't evened out. Just wondering what everyone else does, do you use this method of metering the background and going into manual or is there a simpler way? Thanks H Edit: If it sounded confusing, that's just a long winded way of asking if there is an easier, quicker way to set the camera for the background and exposing the people correctly. I learned with light meters, not with camera metering. __________________________
