some fun stuff Can't Post

Had a chance to do something kind of fun. Some photogs out in Syracuse organized a DWF get-together with some models for practice. Rode out with 3 other photogs and spent the day shooting. (Brian stayed home and took care of the doggies.) I learned a lot. At the time, I felt like everything I shot sucked, but when I got home I found some good stuff. Just need to get better at getting the shot the first (or at least, the second) time.

Here are a few favorite shots we played with. We are also trying to improve our post processing.

Thanks for looking

wow...so much fun. I like the look of them a lot. I wish real brides/grooms looked and acted like models, and that we had the time to set them up like models Unsure

I am going to a photography seminar on May 1 that deals with lighting...hoping to get a bit out of it, but the seminars and demo shoots appear to be really fun.

I was surprised to find that it was actually more difficult to direct the models! At least, for me. I'm so used to working with stiffs and spending more time just trying get them to losen up. I found it much easier to just let them do their thing and wish I had practiced more with asking for specific poses, a la portrait-style.

We're going to try to organize another one and I cannot wait!

Some of these are pretty awesome. Looks like timing may be your
only challenge. That's the hard part. Realize too that models don't
have the chemistry that real couples do. On some of the individual
shots they have the wrong expression for the shot or are uncomfortable
or stiff, like the girl perched on that rail. That should have been a diva shot, not
that oh shit I'm going to fall off smile. Unless they are exceptional
actors too, you are going to be lacking that specific element that you
will only get during real weddings so don't sweat it on these.

I know you are going to laugh, but if you watch America's Next Top Model,
and listen to them critique the models in a photo shoot you learn a
little about how to get out of them what you want. Again though,
how well they can do the job means a lot.
