taking photos without annoying photogs Can't Post

Hi all.
Stumbled across your site last night, i think it is brilliant. I am from Ireland and have been producting wedding video / dvds for 20 years. I now take photos and video at my weddings. When the photog have finished his/her bit I take a portrait photo of each member of the bridal party, I then put these photos at the start of the video with titles, to introduce everyone to the viewer.
The photog does not feel threatened as I am not taking the same shots that they are. Usually the bridal couple really like the photos I take (especially the children shots) and buy them so I make some extra money.Wink

Welcome new friend!!!!

Many of us have called VU home for many years. Check the video section you'll be astounded by the quality of demos there...as well as maybe see some stuff you would like to throw away.
If the photo deal works for you that is brilliant.
Ofcourse everywhere we all live and work, has different standards of what you can and cannot get away with churches and photogs.

example. Most churches I work in allow use of flash as well as on camera video lights, many places across the US do not allow them... So it is all relevant to the market you are in. Same goes for pricing. But read and enjoy, contribute and you'll love it here.

btw what equiptment do you use?

I have a good friend, 20 yrs old...has a panny dv100a and premiere pro setup, looking to learn his equiptment. He lives in waterford ireland i believe, is that close to you? are you maybe looking to add a second camera shooter to your jobs? need an aprentice? if you are interested email me @ CFriedrich@bloodyknux.com, I will gladly give you all his contact info from there.

Hi Chris.
Thanks for the welcome Chris. Sorry Waterford is about 210 miles from me. I dont need another cameraman I do all the work myself, from start to the end product. Years ago when I wanted to expand my business, on two different occasions I trained someone to help me, once trained they left and became the competition so now I just do all the work myself.
Equipment I am using now, camera - Sony dsr 250p, computer - custom built machine with Matrox RT.X100 Xtreme Pro Suite Includes; the RT.X100 Xtreme hardware, Matrox X.tools software, Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, Adobe Encore DVD 1.5 and Adobe Audition 1.5.
