unpredictable customer choice Can't Post

Anybody else finding that it is impossible to predict which images a client will choose when left to their own devices. I am working on one wedding at the moment where out of 300 choices, I only got one the same as the customers final pick of 30. That is why from now on I only offer a predesigned selection so that I am working with what I consider the best images.

Yep, and no doubt over half the selections choosen for the album are the boring "grip & grin" family shots.

Are those 30 pics for an album, or just for prints?

You provide prints with all your packages, right? I'm trying to decide what prints to include, and was wondering the same thing...how difficult customers would be when choosing which ones.

I say just print a proof sheet with thumbnails of each one with a check box by it...then you give them full size prints of the ones they check off. You can put quite a few thumbnails on a sheet of print paper (oh...maybe 30?) so 10 sheets to present 300 potential prints. Just build it into the cost of the package.

This was one where I was testing my offerings, so it was 30 finished files, 10 actual prints, as proof that they were pro quality and so they had something to show around while they chose more. I will have more than that up on kodak or photobox to grab a few more print sales, I hope, and to recoup something for the time I thought I was anticipating their choicesBlush and getting some images ready while they were on honeymoon. Next time I will predesign full montage pages in something like flip album and make them give up pages if they want to save money.
