Amateur film club needs help from expert Can't Post

Hello, i am a sophmore in highschool. I started a film club at my highschool with plans of recruiting a group of students to make amateur films with. as students we have a budget of maybe $500. i have access to a DV camera but dont know what to do once we have made a film? is their some special way we should shoot our scenes for the editing? where can i edit the film? how much would it cost? are their any amateur video contest for students like us? i also need advice on film from someone who has experience with this kind of project before. please email me

Hi Carson,
If you have a faculty advisor, you might want to ask their
help in finding a place to edit for little or no money. Ask
them to call a local cable TV public access station. In my area
one of our High Schools even has it's own station.
Another place I would try is a local community college. Look
for the video production instructors. If your film club doesn't have a faculty advisor, I would ask one of your teachers for help in doing this. Your school librarian may also be able to help you.
