DVCPRO 50 compatibility with AVID media composer 9000 Can't Post

hello,
anyone out there who can give me an idea if a DVCPRO50 deck or camera can be integrated with the AVID media composer 9000? Would I be able to digitize without compromising image quality? do I need a serial digital input/output cabele for this or a simple digital component cable can link dvcpro50 and avid? thank you for whatever information you can share with me.

If your Avid is an ABVB board, then you need the SDI top and will no longer be able to use UYV input. If your Avid is Meridien no problem you already got SDI!.
Notice that DVCPRO is 4:2:2 and your avid does not use native compression. AVR77 is around 2.3:1. You will probably not see any degradation even if you use YUV the first couple of generations.
