Digital 8 vs Mini - DV Can't Post

Can Digital 8 material be edited in the same way as DV and is the inherent video quality as good?

m jamal,
In two words: Yes, yes.
Go to the page below for a good explanation of some fundamental video engineering principles, as well as a comparison of the two formats.

Whoops. That last post of mine should be addressed to "Robyn," not "m jamal."

Joe, when you say "contact someone," do you mean that you want somebody to edit it for you? That can get pretty pricey. Where do you live? My company, Inkling Productions, could do the editing for you for a reasonable price. We are located in New York City.
Try subscribing to your most local Webcinema List. This is an email list of video professionals and enthusiasts who can reccomend some local editors to you. Here's the link to their main page: http://www.webcinema.org/
If you want to take a stab at editing it yourself, and you can learn to use your editing software, you can get a firewire card for your computer. That will require some research, and you can expect to pay $100-$500, if you are staying strictly in the realm of editing the footage from your digital 8 camera.
Good luck, and don't hesitate to email me.
