Free Open Source Scriptwriting Application Can't Post

Hey Guys,

Just want to give a quick update about Celtx.

We have just released version 0.9 and have been working hard to implement the tools writers need to get their job done. Some of these features include spell check, auto complete, find & replace, proper formatting and mutlple file outputs.

Celtx is also cross platform (Windows, Mac OS C, Linux) and offers collaboration via the net.

Our great user community has been offering up great advice, requests and bug tracking through our forum - http://forums.celtx.com.

Check out Celtx here - http://www.celtx.com

Thanks a lot.

Looks real nice, spick. Can it do a two-column TV format?

Hi Doug,

We do not have the two column format in Celtx yet.

We are going to be introducing a templating system that will allow user defined layouts of script elelments in a future release.

You should check out our forum for what other users have been asking for as well - http://forums.celtx.com.

Cheers,

Steve

ScriptWerx

http://www.videouniversity.com/scriptwx/swerx.htm

which is available right here at VideoUniversity does two columns and lots more.

Script Werx provides a package of twelve templates. For more details, click the name of the format that interests you.
  • Screenplay Formats 1. Feature Films 2. Corporate and Informational Videos 3. Live-Tape TV Scripts 4. 3-Camera TV Scripts
  • Video Formats 5. Two-Column 6. Four-Column
  • 7. Combination Format
  • 8. Storyboards
  • 9. Creative Treatment for Corporate Video
  • Extras for Corporate Video 10. Research Questions 11. On-Camera Questions

  • ScriptWerx installs into MS Word so if you know how to use MS Word you can probably used ScriptWerx without cracking the manual!

I used it on a complex video that had been ordered by the Dept of Justice. I had to email versions of the script to an attorney in NY and one in LA. They could easly read the perfectly formatted script because these are doc files which everyone can read.
