Greetings Can't Post

Hello, I am new to this forum, it came highly recommended.

I got into filming and editing last August when I was hanging out with my bud in a band, Grassy Knoll &the Magic Bullit. He said, boy it would be neat to have some unicycling in a video. I blurted out, what if you did the soundtrack to a full DVD?

I then had to tell my wife (who was already at her limits on what I should spend on unicycling equipment!) you know, if I buy a video camera, I could make a unicycling DVD. (the hardest sentence ever muttered...having no experience in this field)

I picked up a Panasonic SH120 + wide angle lens, was given the Adobe video package as a good luck gift from the family, and set off.

It took about 2000 hours to do , I learned all the editing as I was making the movie, and I took care of everything, filming, editing, pre, post, authoring and all the graphics and images.

The final product turned out much better than I was expecting, and is now carried internationally and has gotten great reviews worldwide! http://www.LBMmultimedia.com/videos/TWNR.wmv

That was what got me into video (from a webdesign background) and I have filmed some events and weddings since. I do freelance stuff, but I am hoping to land something full time in video production at some level.

You would not believe the incredible angles you can capture while riding a unicycle with your camera...it yields some angles that hollywood hasn't even managed!

Anyways, these forums seem great, although I now see I 'need' an Iriver Unsure

Frogman, this guy is one up on you. Not only does he do video and can ride a unicycle, he can videotape WHILE riding a unicycle! Cool Shocked

I wonder if he ever street interviews any mimes?

Seriously though there is a guy who puts out video tapes of himself unicycling all over the place. Some footage is from a helper and some from his helmet cam. Saw it on Maximum eXposure.

I ride holding the tripod upside down with the camera an inch off the ground. I later invert it in editing. I can film infront of me behind me, swiveling all around, without shooting the unicycle (unless that's the shot I am going for) or even shaking the camera too much, even up to 25km/h (I have a 36" wheel that gets me up to 35km/h, but it's quite unstable at that speed)

I know there are better tools than an upside down tripod for that, but when I am out riding, I like to be as mobile as possible, and one plastic tripod with a handle is perfect. (Funny how riding through the woods with $1500 in your hand keeps you from falling!)

Long, flowing, beautiful shots :)

I've never been a fan of helmet cam shots.

I've seen some GREAT skateboarding videos in my life .. from the mid 70's to present. I am BURNED out on skateboarding videos after some 25 + years.

Your unicycle video with a nice soundtrack was a refreshing departure from the extreme sport de jour.
