My First Camera Can't Post

Your opinions please: I was looking at a few Sony DV cameras and i read a few reviews in a couple of magizines. But taking in cost for what a beginner should spend, easy use, verstility, and all around good camera what should I buy. I've only ever used a Cannon so I'm clueless. Thanks for the suggestions
