If we're talking pre-"digital age" effects, try a flat black opaque drop cloth with holes punched through it and lighting behind. Many tiny lights on spaceships in the original Star Wars Trilogy were simply places on a glass "canvas" that were not painted with lighting behind. : I'm making my first short film, a voyage through space.but, I don't know what to use for the backround stars.I want something similar to the Twilight Zone,in black and white.I'm starting out with a vhs camcorder.I'd appreciate any help,Thanks
