Need help with older panasonic video camera Can't Post

Picked up an older model (pk-973) Panasonic color video camera, but the seller could not locate the portable vcr that went with it. This vcr was about the size of a book, and has a 10-pin adapter plug. This plug goes from the camera to the VCR. I have been searching the net' for that portable vcr, but can't find anything. Does anyone know where I might find this 10 pin portable vcr? The camera was made in the early 80's, so I'm assuming I have to locate one from that era.
Thanks!

I doubt your search will have to be all that narrow. Most dockable recorders will probably work with your camera. Look for one with a similar connector on the VCR. You can also purchase 10-pin/14-pin adapters (Panasonic manufactures them, or at least they used to.) I have seen both VTR's and these cables listed on ebay. With a little patience, you should be able to find one.
By the way, it might not be a bad idea to get a technical manual for your camera. Go to Panasonic's website and do a search using your camera's model number (go to the "parts" search function. That manual should have the pinout of the connector, which will come in real handy if you need to make an adapter cable. If you don't want to do it yourself, I'm sure you could find someone with a little electronics experience and the tools to do it for you at a fairly reasonable price, possibly less than the cost of buying a manufactured one.

I need help with an older panasonic video camera. It has been broken and I asked a shop to look at it. Then they said the crystal screen is broken and if I want my video camera to be fix, I have to pay 700 dollars just to get it fixed and get a new crystal screen. Is it worth it to fix a Panasonic video camera type VX60 or buy a new one? and could you tell me how much is a crystal screen normally in the market these days? Thanks a lot

Hello - I also picked up one of these same cameras and have the same problem locating the portable VCR that the camera hooks up to. Did you find a VCR that matches the camera with the 10 pin plug?
