Pilot cable show Can't Post

I'm putting the final touches on a weekly television pilot that I'll be pitching to some cable networks. This is my first experience pitching a show. I have had contact with the programming folks and they have sent me the standard releases to sign for the pitch.
Does anyone have experience pitching a show and what advice can you give me, or what should I expect.
Thanks,
Paul

Yes, I have experience, and DON'T SIGN ANYTHING without a lawyer reading it over. PERIOD! I pitched a program about high-tech tuner cars back in 2001 and they said, "Thanks, but no thanks". Guess what? It's now called SuperTunerTV on Speed Network and TNN every weekend. If you sign any waiver without a lawyer, you're giving them free fuel to create something without you.

Re: Pilot cable show [In reply to] Can't Post

ditto. Have an entertainment atty walk you through this. Anyone who has ever pitched a show without one has been sorry for doing so. I had 2 shows stolen from me before I learned this.
Both still air and one is making millions upon millions
... just not for me.
