Re: Question about Sony TRV7 and Graininess

1) Check that you're using the correct DV-cassette; does that camcorder use MiniDV or DVC tape? 2) If you're using the correct tape, you may have a technician inspect it.(although it costs around $30 for a camcorder check-up----and that's prior to any possible repair and parts.) 3) If you can't get a free diagnosis/repair estimate, it may be better just to get a refund-----(depending on how much you paid for that camcorder, it might be worth the repair costs---it's your judgement call). 4) Unless it's for a very very low price, and unless there is a refund-policy, I recommend not buying camcorders through ebay. Instead, buy a used camcorder inperson, and only after testing it----with a one-week warranty. Otherwise, just buy a new camcorder, that usually includes one year warranty.(If you use it for a businness---wedding, corporate, event videos----you could break even even if the camcoder costs $2000, since the rate for an edited wedding video starts at about $900 these days.) : I just purchased a Sony TRV7 from eBay and I am receiving quite a bit of graininess for a DV cam. Has anyone heard anything about this camera and know of any problems with graininess? I am really sad right now and trying to figure out if I should get my money back or if there may be something I can do to fix the image. The graininess comes when I have the cam directly hooked up to the tv thru S-Vid and AV's AND when I play it back from the tape. I tested it on two different Sony TV's, as well. Please help!
