Mac is widely agreed upon to be more stable than PC, but it's just unfortunate that there are far less gaming software for Mac.

Didn't know that was widely agreed upon.
Have you thought about getting an Xbox or PS2 or something else made for games?
Mixing games with NLEs will bog down even your favorite flavor of OS.

I just discovered there to be quite a few games for Apple----not as many as for PC, but enough to choose from. I plan on acquiring a G5 2Ghz, with external hard drive, so I wouldn't worry about there being any slow-downs or freez-ups.
