Re: Screener to distributors Can't Post

Joe, thanks for the advice. I wrote a movie in 1996 and after it was produced the movie was being sold in England and a few other countries in Europe with a different box. The production company had no idea how it was distributed there. I didn't have anything to do with it after production so I didn't know what was expected. Again, I appreciate the advice, Bryon

: Unfotunately, if you're sending to a distributor who you feel might steal the screener/promo and try to sell it themselves, there may be no protection good enough. However, if you're sending it to a reputable distributor with good knowledge of how they do business, then just put the standard FBI warning at the front with a phone number to report piracy and/or theft and drop a watermark in at the half mark for about 2 minutes and then again at the end at the resolution and you'll get two things. First, if they watch the thing, you'll hear about your watermark and you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that your screener was watched in it's entirety as well as the understanding that they know you're serious about your product. Both are beneficial to you, so don't worry about insulting someone with your watermark.
: Good luck,
: Joe
