Re: Short ideas! Can't Post

Artsy:
Do a piece on "A Day in the Life of a Tree". Watch the motion brought on by the wind, watch the animals as they traverse the tree's body and watch the leaves change opacity as the day changes. You'll have to get a relatively private spot, but you can lock down your camera and shoot from sun up to sundown with a stop motion feature found on most DV cameras. Then, to make it different tell the story from the tree's point of view.
Serious:
Do a story about degredation of buildings, homes and structures in the city around your home. Show the damage to old structures and offer ideas on what can be done to change the course of decay. try to be objective, but make it a creative statement versus an informative piece. Offer your personal views on the subject.

Funny:
Put a camera on a broom handle for a very low mount. Walk around a city block or down a country road and speak to the values of having a dog's eye view of the world. If you're a good humorist, this one might be the most memorable. I've seen some similar pieces, but they were all too blah.

None require talent and done with care each could offer a great storyline.

Later,
