Stock footage rates? Can't Post

I made a documentary recently and I just got a call from a company that wants to buy out some of the footage. Any ideas what the going rate is for such a thing? I know they do it in per second increments. How about a research fee?
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Prices for stock footage vary widely, depending on the subject matter, uniqueness, demand, and quality of the images. Do a search on "stock footage" and you'll get lots of data for comparison.
