: Go to Barnes & Noble and pick up the book "Film School Confidential"(by Karin Kelly and Tom Edgar). It ranks 30 of the top film schools in the nation. It rates everything from the quality and availability of their equipment to the price per semester(price of living + school). It gives you phone numbers, fax numbers, and addresses of the colleges. Everything you need to know is in this book.
The books top performing schools include - USC (of course) Savannah college of arts, American Film Institute, Bard College (good equipment, cheap cheap tuition), University of Texas(my school), and NYU (the most exspensive school of the bunch).
Good luck

Re: What's in a name [In reply to] Can't Post

I just went through the college search process for film/video. Here are what appear to be four good film schools in the northeast:
- NYU (definitely the best)
- Ithaca college (not too much for film, mostly video)
- Emerson (personal favorite, loads of equipment, very diverse film/video department, located in Boston)
- Boston University
Hope this helps.

I have a quick question. Is your name Tim Travers and did you work at Camp Stella Maris?
