I want to start filmmaking. Would Digital 8 format be sufficient or should I buy a DV camcoder?

: You would probaly be best off with DV!!!!! Check out the sony TRV900(around $1500).... It's an affordable 3 chip camera, or take a look at the Sony VX1000/VX2000($2000 to $3000) - the Sony PD150(about $3300) -
the Cannon XL1(around $3500)!!!
