major film-technical disaster Can't Post

Maybe a little off subject here....but! Did anyone see the new Robert Redford film, "The Legend of Bagger Vance"? I've always been a fan of Redford, but this new film was a technical disaster. I lost count of the number of microphones in the shots. I don't mean the tip of a mic or an occasional shadow....I mean the whole mic and often part of the boom pole. In one scene, you saw the entire boom pole and the audio guy's left arm holding it up. In the lockeroom scenes, not only was the mic in the scene, but the french flag cut off about 1/8 of the top of the screen. In another scene, Matt Damon hits the ball (golf story) and you see a grip walk a flag into the right side of the screen. The audience was actually laughing after a while. Unbelievable that something this shoddy could get past so many people and make it to theatres. On the other hand, there are probably several job openings in the movie business right now. Just thought it was interesting.
