: I'm thinking of buying cannon xL1 or Sony vx2000. Leaning towards the sony, can anyone explain the advantages of the cannon's ability to change lenses? _______________________________________________________________ If you're looking to impress clients with the size of you're camera, the XL1 is great. If you're new to video, I'd take the 2000. I love mine, but I've had Sony cams since 96 so I am partial. The XL1 has great progressive scan mode. It's beautiful but as for the lens'.... those things are expensive! I didn't have the cash to shell out... but if you've already got adaptable camera lens, the XL1 may be an option for you. If you're looking for a low light camera, the VX2K kicks ass, the best.
