Audio Can't Post

Im using a Sony PD 170 and I am having a problem with the channels on the cameras. I want to record on 4 tracks and cant figure out how. When I shoot a ceremony I usually leave the channel on Ch1*Ch2 and when the bride reaches the groom I put it on Ch1. Problem is when I put it on Ch1 it is picking up the wireless mic, Thats it. I figured that would happen since it is only on 1 ch but when it is on Ch1*Ch2 I dont hear the wireless mic through my headset. Can someone please help me out and tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

PD 170 doesn't do 4 channels. You'll have to record on an auxiliary device.
