Basic question for Sony HDR-SR1 and HDR-HC5 owners. Please help! Can't Post

After many weeks of looking around in stores and doing online research I have found that Sony's HDR-SR1 and HDR-HC5 HD camcorders may be right for my project that direly needs a HD camcorder to complete.

However, I have a specific application for their use and need help! Unimpressed

Can anyone here help me with info on a basic function?

One of my uses is for a commercial application for stop motion animation. The delema is that I can't find out if the video outputs will work the way I need them to. Can't find info anywhere in online manuals, reviews or at Best Buy.

Here's what I need to know: Can I plug the video component output cables into the back of my PC or a HDTV and see live video on the screen as I point the camera around the room and at what I am going to animate, frame by frame?

Or are the video outputs on the Sonys only for playback?

(I picked the Sonys because their lenses are the only ones that do not have serious problems with barrel disortion.)

The lack of information on the web and in stores has been very fustraiting. Unsure

Can anyone help!
