Hi everyone, just purchased a HC1 today. Really nice camcorder! I remember reading back (I think it was DSE) saying to make certain setting changes to bring out more from the camera. Does anyone remember what these settings were? DSE?? Thanks. I will be using it as a 2nd cam to match my pd-150. I will still probably shoot in HDV and rez down to match the 150. I want to get a Z1U maybe next year. Also, going to need some batteries and a wide angle lense. I currently have a 37mm wide lens on my older TRV-17, but it isn't a HD lens. The model I have is a Sony VCL-0637H. Is this glass good enough for the HC1? Or should I be looking at getting the new Sony VCL-HG0737Y, this lens is just being released. What size batteries are people using on their HC1? NP-QM71D or NP-QM91D? I heard the NP-QM91D is too big, that it's difficult to see through the viewfinder. Is this true? I only have one NP-QM71D right now and seems ok. I came accross this listings on ebay...these batteries are really cheap. Has anyone purchased from this guy? or someone similar? The batteries come from Hongkong. I emailed him and he assured me that they were brand new in the package. I can buy 4 for the price of one here in Canada. Any thoughts? http://cgi.ebay.ca/...name=ADME:L:RTQ:CA:1 http://cgi.ebay.ca/...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'm also looking at purchasing one of these ... http://cgi.ebay.ca/...3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 How well do these work? Also, is anyone using the above with a beachteck XLR adaptor? I'm sure all of these pieces add a substantial amount of weight to the cam. Good for stablization I guess. If anyone has pics..that would be great! Sorry last question..on cam light? Because of the proprietary accessory shoe, what lighting options are there? All me lights are of the older type. I've using a grip with a cold shoe on it, but the light sits just above the grip and is too far to the left of the lens and is quite noticable. Is there an adaptor which will allow for a on-cam light. Why does Sony make such good product, but at the same time makes the outfitting a pain in the A)@(#$SS. Thanks, Frank
