HDR-HC1 camcorder Can't Post

I had a week or so with this little marvel, and wrote a short review of it. It performed amazingly well in low light, and did extremely well with bumpy bricked streets in Kuala Lumpur.

Re: [DSE] HDR-HC1 camcorder [In reply to] Can't Post

Nice review, Spot. You might want to proof your HTML, there seem to be a couple of sentences that were cut off a word or two early by the illustrations.

Question: Do the battery life figures apply to the "stock" supplied battery, and if so, are there larger-capacity batteries available?

2nd question: Do you know if the "pro" version will remember settings?

Thanks for the HTML text catch, Doug. I finished the review on a hotel computer as wireless in KL isn't all that great. I obviously missed a couple lines in the transfer.
Anyway, it's fixed.

I don't know if the A1 will remember settings or not. I didn't find this to be a big hassle, just that I'm somewhat spoiled by the Z1 and it's ability to remember everything. I'm not aware of any consumer-oriented cams that have the save feature, but there might be one.

Hey people,

Anyone manage to get their hand on either one of these...

Sony HDV Camcorder HVR-A1P/A1 <== HC1 with XLR ports.

Not til early next week, I'm afraid. There was a single prototype/non-production model at DVExpo East, but that's not quite the real deal yet. With luck, a few preproduction units will be here from Japan in the next few days. If I'm lucky enough to get my hands on one, I'll post a review.
